Daily Prayer
DO YOU NEED TO FORGIVE?
In this life, we will encounter those who hurt or offend us, even if their words or actions were unintentional. We may be insulted or slandered unfairly. We will be put in situations where we must choose to forgive or not to forgive. Our pride can get the best of us if we refuse to humble our hearts and offer grace to the offender. It is not easy to forgive, but the Lord knows that it is a sacrifice of love that must be made in order to set us free. He was the example of grace upon grace by bearing the cost and burden of our sins on the cross. He gave up His life in order that we may be free and forgiven by His grace!
It is by grace that you have been saved. Your sins were washed away and you were made clean through the blood of Jesus Christ. Because of His forgiveness to you, He wants you to forgive as you have been forgiven, so that you can experience a deeper relationship with Him. There is much left to show you as you extend grace. This is simple when you put Jesus in the center of your life, right where He wants to be. As you give grace, you will grow in the knowledge of your Lord Jesus Christ. As He lives in you, your life will be transformed, and as you forgive, you will live in freely in the Spirit!
Dear Lord,
I am holding on to many offenses from my past, and it is time that I let go of them and forgive the offender. You want me to forgive, as you have forgiven me, by giving grace that flows from a humble heart. Your Word offers hope as I read in
2 PETER 3:18,”GROW IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.” I can offer my grace that flows from my heart as I draw closer to the Holy Spirit. I can learn truth when I grow in the knowledge of Your Word that comes alive inside of me. It is time to come closer to Your grace by giving grace that flows from a heart of gratitude and love!
In Jesus name,
Amen
